About me
You already know what I’m not. I’m not some high-powered divorce attorney nor am I a family therapist or relationship coach.
Just like you, I’m an ordinary person with an ordinary life who has been through the upheaval of a separation (in my case children were involved) so I know first-hand how hard and traumatic making this decision can be.
When a relationship is breaking up, it is a very difficult time and brace yourself because you'll ride a roller-coaster of emotions. For those initiating the separation, it starts well before the separation and lasts for some time afterwards as well. It’s hard to imagine when you’re in the middle of the distress that you can and will feel better.
As I was going through mine, I developed practical strategies I could use to get through each day and, as time went on, gradually things looked better. Making the decision to leave the relationship was harder and more stressful than anything else I’ve done. Developing the strategies helped me cope and this website is dedicated to sharing what I've learnt with anyone else who finds themselves in my position.
These days I am a single mother to a beautiful young daughter. I feel positive about our lives and I'm focused on being part of a successful and happy family, which includes my former partner, even though we might now live in our different houses.
Blessings and stay strong,
Fiona |
